Woo hoo! We've unlocked the first stretch goal, and we're already heading towards the next.

Expanded Area: the Ruins

What happened here? Runes and dead plants adorn the stones. Giant statues tell of past rulers, each with their Ozymandias pride. Careful searching will reveal truths found nowhere else.

New Race: Asvos

The Asvos manage the countless magical contracts that the magical folk forge with less- or non-magical folk. They’re the contract lawyers of the world. 

Magic: None, although powerful deep magic protects the contracts they manage. This allows the Asvos to hold the (incredibly powerful) High Fovos accountable.

The Klosi

The Klosi are the most technologically advanced race in the world of Thistledown. They had magical powers once, but almost all of their abilities were taken away from them when they angered the wrong High Fovos. The only ability left to them: they can spin anything. No longer having access to their magic, the Klosi turned to technology, using complex systems of gears and pulleys to create a giant city in the trees. 

Question: featured campaigns? 

I've seen creators sharing links to other Kickstarter campaigns - I enjoy helping other creators share their work, but I want to check with you: as a backer, do you find these sort of suggestions helpful, or annoying? I'd only share a campaign that seemed high-quality and interesting, and I'd (of course) never take money for a feature, although the other creator might choose to feature Thistledown in return. If you've never experienced this, here's a featured campaign. Let me know what you think in a comment. Thanks! 

Interesting campaign: Lego Chess

(I’m not getting paid for this, although the lego chess creator might feature Thistledown in return. This should in no way be seen as an unbiased review, just my honest thoughts. :)

I've been into tabletop games a long time, and legos a longer time. If you're a LEGO or a chess Geek check out this campaign. They seem legitimately well-designed, and flexible - the chess pieces are made to interlock with legos in a lot of different ways, which means you can use them for more than just a chess board. Seems cool. I’m considering backing the campaign as a birthday present for my daughter, she’s into LEGO and chess right now.

Now, let's get on to adding extra stuff to the game.

Stretch Goals!

So excited to be able to dream about adding more to the game. More funds = more time that I can devote to the game. This means expanded areas, short story DLC, and more. The more we fund, the more everyone gets! Some of these stretch goals might turn into stand-alone games later, and all backers who get a copy of Thistledown will get all of them, absolutely free - as a thank you for believing in me by backing this Kickstarter. Expanded Area: the Rats

The Sapila have been banished to the swamps, with eerie floating watchers preventing them from ever leaving. What did they do? Are they trying to escape? This stretch goal will fill out their story.

Short Story: Shepherd's Purse

The Kako are cannibals, depraved, crazy beasts to be killed without remorse. Everyone knows this.  Shepherd's Purse, an elder at a Kouneli Outpost, isn't so sure...

HOORAY! 

 A nice surprise today, I found out that Kickstarter had picked Thistledown to be a "Project We Love"!

 
 New Race: The Erpo

  The Erpo are white foxes, living a secluded existence in the mountains. They reside in insulated canvas yurts, which are improbably fashioned into towers. Probably takes magic to get them to stand up. Probably.
 They are constantly driving back the hordes of Kako threatening the world.
Magic: The Erpo are powerfully magical, second only to the High Fovos in magic capability. They are one of the only races of the Animalia who can practice magic without a contract with a Fovos.

The Erpo are my Dev Sensei Davey's favorite race in Thistledown. Have any questions about them, or Thistledown lore generally? I'd be glad to answer them in the comments! :)
